Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park
Every Wednesday from May 28 through August 27, the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation welcomes an eclectic mix of talented local musicians into the park to bring Walkway Over the Hudson's Ulster Welcome Center Plaza to life with free live music from 6-7 p.m. Wednesday night concerts represent a variety of genres including blues, jazz, pop , country and Irish music. Concerts are open to everyone and suitable for all ages. Bring chairs and blankets!

Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park
Celebrate the start of summer with a free kickoff concert at Walkway Over the Hudson! The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation present "The Local Jam" live at the Ulster Welcome Center in Highland. "The Local Jam" band are local Hudson Valley musicians covering the top bands, artists and one-hit wonders over the past several decades! Our song sets will have you singing along and swaying to the beat of your favorite classic songs from the 60's, 70's,80's and 90's!! Three sisters, who have been singing and harmonizing with each other since childhood, along with male vocalists, bass, keyboards, drums, and guitarist accompaniment. Free and open to the public for all ages.

Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park
The Mid-Hudson Antislavery History Project (MHAHP) and the Oh, Freedom! Quilting Project present a short slide show of the history of slavery and antislavery in Dutchess County. On display are commemorative history quilts that were created by local quilt circles and invited quilt artists. There is also a simple make and take project available for community participation. The quilts will be on display from 1 – 3:30 p.m. so the public will have the opportunity to learn about the art and the history from those involved with this project. The Walkway Connections presentation begins at 2 p.m. This event takes place at the East Gate Plaza in Poughkeepsie (61 Parker Avenue). It is free to attend and appropriate for all ages.

This Independence Day, Friends of the Walkway invites the community to experience the City of Poughkeepsie 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular from eye level - 212 feet above the Hudson River on the world's longest elevated pedestrian bridge. On Friday, July 4 at 6 p.m., Walkway Over the Hudson will open exclusively to ticket holders offering panoramic twilight views and an unforgettable perspective on the professional fireworks show. Rubber fish prints have been carved out with native Hudson River species. Paint, stamp, and decorate your own fish painting at this fun, free Walkway Connections event on Saturday, July 26 from 7-8 p.m. at the Ulster Welcome Center (87 Haviland Road, Highland). Led by Amy Oblitas Rojas and Jackie Brooks, both educators at the Norrie Point Environmental Center. They are involved with both the Department of Environmental Conservation and the Student Conservation Association. All Walkway Connections events are free to attend with no RSVP required.

Friends of the Walkway is pleased to offer the opportunity to enjoy amazing Hudson Valley views after dark from 212 feet above the Hudson River at Walkway at Night. With the moon hanging high in the sky and the Mid-Hudson Bridge twinkling in the distance, there is truly nothing like a twilight evening on the World's Longest Elevated Pedestrian Bridge. Our friends from the Mid-Hudson Astronomical Association will be on-bridge with telescopes to view the night sky (weather permitting). Reserve your ticket for entry at walkway.org/walkwayatnight.
