Pet Policy

A maximum of two pets are allowed in campsites and day use areas unless prohibited by sign or directive. Pets are to be supervised at all times and either be crated or on a leash not more than 6-feet in length. Proof of rabies inoculation must be provided at check-in.. Pets are not permitted in playgrounds, buildings, golf courses, boardwalks, pools and spray-grounds or guarded beaches (this does not apply to service animals).

Oquaga Creek State Park is just three hours from New York City and New Jersey, which makes its forested campsites the perfect summer escape. The park offers a 55-acre Arctic Lake where anglers can fish for black bass, bullheads and rainbow trout. The rolling, wooded hills are ideal for winter sledding. Winter visitors can also ice fish on the frozen lake and snowshoers and cross-country skiers can explore ten miles of trails. If you like to camp, 90 non-electric sites are available. If you don't want to bother to pack a tent and equipment, you may be interested in the Full Service Accommodation. This cottage provides 2 bedrooms, a kitchen with a refrigerator, stove, cooking utensils dishes and silverware and more.

The two-story cottage offers a kitchen, living room with fire wood stove, one and a half baths, master bedroom with a Queen bed, second upstairs bedroom with three double beds, gas and electric heat, stove with oven, refrigerator, furniture, cooking utensils, dishes, glassware, and silverware. Linens are not supplied. For outdoor meals and campfires, a picnic table and gas grill are provided. 

Oquaga Creek offers "rustic" cabins. These cabins are the perfect in-between for campers who like tents and cabins.  Offering protection from the elements, they sleep six, but have no electricity or water. Unfortunately, our cabins and full service cottage are not available on a "walk in" basis when the office is closed.  Please CALL AHEAD to confirm office hours, as well as availability of our cabins, or our full service cottage. Two-night minimum stay required for reservations. Reservation and out-of-state resident fees also apply.

Hours of Operation

  • The park is open year round, seven days a week, dawn to dusk.

    Some facilities such as bathrooms, are available from Labor Day to Columbus Day.  Please call ahead with any questions.

    Park Office Hours:  
    Generally 9 am to 5 pm weekdays, 9 am to 8 pm weekends during camping season, but please call ahead.
  • *Boat launch is available near the water for non-motorized, "car top" craft.  No parking in boat launch area, load/unload only.

    90 Campsites, maximum of 6 people per site
    7 Rustic Cabins, maximum of 6 people per cabin
    Full Service Cottage available for rent (maximum of 8 people in cottage).

    Tent Rentals:  Available dawn to dusk.  (Capacity 50 people).  Please call park office for information and reservations.

Fees & Rates

Most New York State Parks charge a vehicle use fee to enter the facility. Fees vary by location and season. A list of entry fees and other park use fees is available below. For fees not listed or to verify information, please contact the park directly.

    $58 per night (6 person) - no electric or water* ( 2 night minimum)

    All Camping:
    Additional: $5/night for out of state fee, $7.25 Reserve America fee, $1.25 walk in fee.
