Do you like to run? Come join us for an easy, slow paced, 1.0 mile group run through the park! Please come prepared with running shoes, water, and anything else that would make your running experience comfortable! Meet at the Pavilion next to the playground. This event has been canceled.

Jean Fahey, President of the CNY Mycological Society will be at our trailhead to teach about wild mushrooms that grow at the park. We will learn how mushrooms grow, then hike to look for wild mushrooms on our trails! Please dress for the woods. We recommend closed toed shoes, and long pants. Meet at the trailhead next to the tollbooth.

Join us for a peaceful evening with yoga instructor Carla Van Wormer on the shores of Southwick Beach State Park. Whether you're new to yoga or an experienced practitioner, you'll enjoy moving with the sound of the waves and the glow of the evening sky. A limited number of yoga mats will be available, please bring your own if possible. Come as you are and leave refreshed, grounded, and inspired! Entries will be posted on our Facebook page Southwick Beach State Park. The photo with the most likes will determine the winner. Contest winner will receive a beach basket filled with items to visit the beach. Winning photo will be also featured around the park. Winner will be announced October 11th at our Music & Dancing by the Beach event from 12-4. Details to Enter: Each person can submit up to Two Entries Photos must be taken at Southwick Beach State park, All photos must have a name of the photographer and contact information in the email with attached photographs, Photos entries send to SWBNatureCenter@parks.ny.gov. Photos must be submitted by October 1st. Voting will start on October 3 and end October 10 at 12pm. For more information please contact the Nature Center.
