State Park Police Seeking Missing Man at Thacher State Park

New York State Park Police are searching for a 71-year-old man who was hiking in the Paint Mine area of John Boyd Thacher State Park on Monday.

Park Police began searching for Bruce L. Decker, 71, of Guilderland on Thursday after his vehicle was discovered left unmoved in the Paint Mine parking lot. A check of his residence indicated he may not have been home since Monday.

Decker is described as a white male, approximately 5' 9", gray hair, last seen wearing gray pants, black jacket, gray plaid scarf, and dark boots.

State Park Police, the Albany County Sheriff's Department, Department of Environmental Conservation Forest Rangers, and Albany County Search and Rescue are searching for the missing man. Police are using K-9 units and aerial drones to assist in the search.

Anyone with information is urged to call park police at (518) 584-2004.
