Did you know oysters were once a major source of food for New Yorkers from time immemorial? Join Ben "Moody" Harney, founder of The Real Mother Shuckers oyster cart in Brooklyn as he shares his research into New York's deep connections to oysters, from pre-contact Indigenous communities to entrepreneurial Black oystermen like Thomas Downing – the Oyster King of New York City.
