History Hike
Friday, August 1, 2025 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM
A free, guided history walk in the Old Section of the North
Elba Cemetery at 10am on Friday August 1. About a mile; the last of our summer
season guided hikes will be more of a meander through the cemetery, with
discussion of the local settlers of the John Brown era buried here, and we'll
take a short walk to the nearby White Church (1875), the first formal church in
the town of North Elba. We will be able to go inside this privately owned
historic building, which John Brown's friend, Lyman Eppes built. Meet guide at
the John Brown Farm historic house at 115 John Brown Rd, Lake Placid. We'll
drive the short distance together to the town cemetery. Call or text
518-806-9719 for information and registration.
