Black Birders Week: “Grounded in Community”

Join the NYC and Long Island Environmental Education Teams to learn about birds up close with our animal ambassadors! In collaboration with the organizations Black AF In STEM and NYC Bird Alliance, join the NYS Parks' New York City team in celebrating and uplifting budding Black birders, expert Black birders, and all birders and wannabe birders in between! From May 25, 2025 to May 31st, 2025, NYS Parks is hosting a week-long series of events at three state parks named after historically prominent Black leaders: Marsha P. Johnson State Park, Shirley Chisholm State Park, and Roberto Clemente State Park! All programs are free and materials are provided, including binoculars and bird guides. Questions?
