Local Loyalists in the Battle of Bennington Reconsidered
Saturday, August 30, 2025 02:00 PM - 03:00 PM
Join us for a lecture by White Creek Town Historian Ted
Rice. Mr. Rice has researched the lives of several inhabitants living near the
site of the Battle of Bennington in 1777. Drawing from his original research,
the lives of these men, some who fought and some who did not, will be placed in
context. Why did some find British rule agreeable while others found it to be
intolerable? From ardent royalists eager to put a stop to the chaos of
rebellion to Quakers wrestling with their consciences and everything in
between, these men came from all walks of life and had their lives touched by a
battle fought on their doorstep. Space is limited, RSVP to David Pitlyk today! david.pitlyk@parks.ny.gov //
