Have you ever wanted to see bats at night? Maybe you want to go on a
night hike through the park and see what critters you can find. Join an
educator as we go on a night stroll through the park looking for bats and other
nocturnal animals. We will meet at the welcome center at 5:45pm. Registration
is required -- call 518-279-1155 to register. Recommended for ages 12+.

Our seventh hike in our hiking challenge series will be the Second Pond
trail! We will meet at the Boat Launch at 9:00 a.m. before departing for the
hike. In total, the hike will be around 2-3 miles and will take approximately
2-3 hours. Please bring water and stable shoes as parts of the trail may be
muddy. Please call to register at 518-279-1155.

Calling all night owls! The Albany Area Amateur Astronomers will have
telescopes to give you a tour of the night sky during this free program held at
the Deerfield Pavilion.
No preregistration required. Enter via main entrance and follow signs to
program-- first left off main entrance road. Please drive slowly in the park at
night. No charge.

Join us for our annual Trick or Treat Nature Trail on Saturday, October
18th, 2025. Discover some of our weird and wonderful forest friends along the
illuminated trail. Participate in fun fall activities, including a bonfire,
crafts, and snacks at the Welcome Center. Be sure to wear a costume! Time slots
begin at 3:00PM and go every 15 minutes through 7:30PM. Time slots before
5:00pm are designated for families with small children, or those with sensory
sensitivities. Preregistration is required to reserve your family's time slot;
please call 518-279-1155, ext. 2. Cost for this program is $4/person.

fall birding. This class is intended for beginners and seasoned birders! This

Trails. We will be celebrating by handing out certificates, patches and eating
ice cream. If you have completed the challenge outside of the series, you are
welcome to attend!
Please bring $5 for your patch and $2 for the ice cream party!
