Overlook Trail Hike

Green Lakes State Park
Join us on an adventurous hike overlooking Round Lake and
through old growth forests. This moderate to challenging hike is about 3 miles
over woodland trails. The trail surface may have tree roots and there are a few
hills. Wear sturdy shoes and bring water. You may want bug spray. We will
meet near the playground in the Rolling Hills Campground.

Mandala Rock Painting

Practice connecting to nature using mindfulness. Then paint
a mandala on a rock to take home with you. This is a kid focused
program; kids must be accompanied by an adult. Meet at the Environmental
Education Center (west beach parking area).

Fish Printing

Green Lakes State Park
Drop-by the Environmental Education Center between 12-4pm on
July 4th to learn about the many types of fish that live in Green
Lake. Then try out the ancient art of fish printing. This is a kid focused
program; kids must be accompanied by an adult. Visit the Environmental
Education Center (West Beach).

Secrets of the Lake Guided Walk

Green Lakes State Park
Join an educator on a guided hike around the lake to learn
its secrets. Why is the lake green? How is it a rare lake? What unusual life
live in its depths? This is a two mile walk on a flat crushed gravel trail.
Usually takes between 1-1.5 hours. Guide presents info along the first ¼ mile.
Simply enjoy the walk and view for the rest of the hike and ask the guide any
questions you have. Meet at the Environmental Education Center located next to
the first west beach parking lot.

Geocaching Challenge

Learn about NYS Parks' Central Region Geocache Challenge!
Start by finding some caches hidden right here at Green Lakes State Park. Maybe
this will be the beginning of a challenge you'll enjoy all summer long! Meet at
the Environmental Education Center (West Beach). If you want to use your own
GPS enabled device download the Geocaching app ahead of time.
