Join us for a talk by Donald "Doc" Bayne about the plants and animals in the forest that may be hidden at first glance, but are revealed when you know what to look for. Doc is an Environmental educator and the Sterling Forest State Park historian. After this talk, a walk in the woods will never be the same.

Don't
miss "Kites & Kids Day" on Saturday, September 27 from 2-4 pm at
Washington's Headquarters State Historic Site in Newburgh. The event is free
and open to the public. Bring
the whole family for an afternoon of fun activities. Kites will be given out to
the first 150 kids and they can fly them on the great lawn overlooking the
Hudson river. Enjoy face painting, a balloon artist, and toys and crafts from
the 1700's. Make a corn husk doll or try your hand at hoop rolling or a game of
jacks. All activities are free and the site will be handing out free ice cream.
The event is rain or shine, most activities will be moved indoors if there is
inclement weather.
