The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (State Parks) will hold a public hearing October 27 on a draft Master Plan/Draft Environmental Impact Statement for Sampson State Park in the Town of Romulus, Seneca County.

The master plan will guide park development and operation over the next decade. The master plan includes proposals for improvements to the park, existing buildings and camping areas, new trails, the marina, additional recreational facilities and natural resource management strategies. A copy of the Draft MP-DEIS will be available starting October 13th on State Parks' website at http://nysparks.com/inside-our-agency/master-plans.aspx. Copies of the plan will also be available starting October 13th at the Finger Lakes State Parks Regional Headquarters, 2221 Taughannock Park Rd., Trumansburg and the Edith B. Ford Memorial Library, 7169 N. Main St., Ovid.

The hearing will be held in the meeting room at the park office located at 6096 NY Route 96A, Romulus. Information about the plan will be available at an open house beginning at 6:00 p.m., followed by the public hearing starting at 7:00 p.m. Comments about the plan will be accepted until December 4, 2015.
