The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation will hold a public participation session to solicit input on the proposed West River Greenway Connector Trail on Grand Island. The meeting will be an open house format and will take place on Tuesday, October 6 from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Grand Island Town Hall, 2255 Baseline Road, Grand Island, NY 14072.
The proposed project is an 8 mile multi-use, multi-season trail overlooking the west channel of the Niagara River and will connect Beaver Island State Park with Buckhorn State Park. Proposed enhancements along the trail include way-finding signage, parking area improvements, bike racks, and other features designed to enhance the use of the trail. The project was endorsed by the Niagara River Greenway Commission in September of 2013.
