Walkway Talks: The Brainchild of Harvey Eastman
Sunday, August 18, 2024 02:30 PM - 03:30 PM
Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park
Meet at East Gate Plaza, Poughkeepsie. It deals with Eastman's vision and the roadblocks he faced, and the laying of the cornerstone, which was a huge event for the time. The delay and eventual building of the bridge will be discussed as well as the final abandonment and rebuild. Finally, Jim will talk about his novel, The Poughkeepsie Murder, and its connection to the Walkway. Presented by James Bennett BFA, MFA, a Poughkeepsie artist and author. He has written over 30 books including two novels which incorporate local history and important landmarks. This event is free to attend and open to all.
